first_imgAccording to CTIA’s Annual Survey, America’s wireless providers invested $29.1 Billion last year (a four-year high) – to meet the unprecedented demand for mobile data and to continue to build out the 5G networks that will power the U.S. economy over the next decade. This significant investment helped prepare U.S. wireless networks for the traffic spikes and shifts from COVID-19 this year and handle last year’s 37 trillion MBs of mobile data, which represents a 30% increase from the year prior and is 96 times the amount of mobile data used in 2010.Meredith Attwell Baker, CTIA President and CEO, said that thanks to remarkable levels of investment, America’s wireless networks are keeping them connected when they need it, giving consumers the best wireless experience in the world. This non-stop investment cycle differentiates the wireless industry and is paying real dividends as their members build 5G networks across the country, creating jobs and helping the economy recover.CTIA’s Annual Survey has tracked the trajectory of the wireless industry for 35 years. This year’s key findings include:Wireless investment continues to rise. Industry investment increased to $29.1 billion in 2019, marking a four-year high. This accounts for 18% of the world’s spending on wireless, while the U.S. represents just 4.5% of the world’s population. Mobile traffic continues to grow. Mobile traffic increased by 30% year-over-year to 37 trillion MBs. That’s 43% more than the industry’s first four years of data traffic combined and a 96-fold increase from 2010 when 4G was first deployed in the U.S. The 5G rollout intensifies. Last year, the wireless industry added over 46,000 more cell sites—more than the combined growth from 2015 to 2018—to reach 395,562 active sites across the country and continue building the backbone of U.S. 5G networks. Voice minutes and text messages continue to increase. Voice minutes are up nearly 30% to 3.1 trillion and text traffic increased to 2.1 trillion—up 52 billion texts from the year prior. Total wireless connections are at highest total ever. Wireless connections increased by over 20 million for a total of 442.5 million and data-only devices like smartwatches and connected cars grew more than 25% to 174.8 million.”Such remarkable year-over-year progress shows the power of the wireless industry to deliver for American consumers when policymakers enhance a spectrum, siting and regulatory framework that promotes investment and competition,” added Attwell Baker.Click here to view results from CTIA’s 2020 Annual Survey.last_img read more

first_imgItalian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte has announced that professional sports teams can resume training on May 18.Serie A has been suspended since March 9, when the government ordered a nationwide lockdown.Twelve rounds remain in Serie A, plus four other games that were postponed from the 25th round. The Italian Cup was suspended after the first leg of the semi-finals.The move means that Serie A could potentially resume playing games in June, though Conte said a decision on that will not be made until a later date.Conte said the government will “work with experts” to monitor the situation and then later “evaluate whether there are the conditions to end the suspended championships”.Conte also said that athletes will be free to resume training individually from May 4. That is the date when public parks and gardens will re-open and people will be able to visit relatives who live in the same region.“Minister for Sport, Vincenzo Spadafora, will work alongside experts and the football league system to find a path that we have already started to define with individual training from May 4 and group sessions from May 18,” Conte said during a televised address to the nation on Sunday night.“We will then evaluate if the conditions are in place to be able to complete the suspended leagues. If we do reach that conclusion, we’ll certainly do so while guaranteeing maximum safety measures.“We love our footballing idols and don’t want them to get ill.”Conte also stressed the importance of maintaining social distancing practices once restrictions are eased. In the case of parks, mayors can impose limits, such as how many people enter, to avoid crowding. During family visits, people will have to wear masks and cannot hold parties.Conte said: “If people do not follow the new measures the curve of contagion can rise again, it will go out of control, deaths will climb and we will have irreparable damage to the economy.”last_img read more

first_imgCLEVELAND – The Browns haven’t been shy about their interest in former Cowboys’ star receiver, Dez Bryant.During the first week of training camp, general manager John Dorsey admitted that they had contracted Bryant’s representatives. Yet, there’s been no traction between the two sides since. In fact, Dorsey told the media prior to the Browns preseason opener with the Giants that he wants to bring the 29-year-old in for a meeting this week, but he isn’t returning his calls. If Dorsey left a message though, it sounds like Bryant got it.The Cowboys’ castaway took to Twitter to share an update on his free agent courting and made sure to let Dorsey know that he’ll be visiting “the Land.”Starting my visits next week…I’m coming to the Land to see you Mr Dorsey— Dez Bryant (@DezBryant) August 10, 2018Unfortunately for Bryant, Dorsey has publicly said he’s not much of a Twitter guy, which means he probably hasn’t seen the response. Hopefully Bryant lets Dorsey know the old fashioned way and give him a call back. There’s been plenty of mixed reaction to the Browns expressing interest in Bryant outside of team facilities. The three-time Pro Bowler comes has developed the reputation of being a prima donna and sometimes too vocal. That makes for some concern in regards to how he’d impact the culture of this young Cleveland roster. At the same time, the Browns could use some more talent at wide receiver. For starters, Josh Gordon has yet to arrive at camp and while Dorsey and company have reiterated that he will show up at some point, Gordon’s been unreliable in the past. The team also just traded former first-round pick, Corey Coleman, earlier this week.Follow: @Spencito_ Spencer German Related Topics2018 Cleveland BrownsDez BryantJohn Dorseylast_img read more

first_imgGov. Walker: “I know that some companies are not comfortable with how aggressive I am in representing Alaska, but that’s my job and that’s what I’m going to do.” This morning’s meeting in Anchorage precedes a gathering with the three industry partners where all four must agree to continue the $45-65 billion gasline project. Acting chair Dave Cruz says despite earlier threats from Governor Bill Walker that the budget might be vetoed, the board is set to give the green light. Governor Walker has expressed concern that the industry partners, ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips, and BP, could withdraw from the deal and may not sell their gas to the project. He wanted written confirmation that they would, suggesting that a gas reserves tax would be implemented if any of the three hesitated. Lawmakers were quick to criticize the move. Nikiski’s Speaker Mike Chenault… FacebookTwitterEmailPrintFriendly分享The entity in charge of the state’s share of the AK LNG Project says they’ll today approve the budget for another year’s worth of work. Spkr. Chenault(R-District 29): “I don’t believe that reserves tax is a way to incentivize our partners in a $65 billion project in line with the state of Alaska. I think it causes uncertainty and I think uncertainty will be what kills the gas pipeline project.”The tax was eventually scrapped before lawmakers entered a special session to deal with the buyout of former partner TransCanada.Today’s meeting will begin at 9am.last_img read more

first_imgFacebookTwitterEmailPrintFriendly分享Nikiski area residents have historically advocated for local community control of services. The Nikiski service areas have been providing fire, recreation, road, and senior services since the late 60’s. However, the Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly supports the incorporation of Nikiski as a home rule city within the boundaries decided by the LBC. The proposal would incorporate Nikiski as a home rule city stretching approximately 5,480 square miles and with a population of 5,985. The intent to incorporation is to allow for maximum local self-government within the specified boundaries. Story as aired: The resolution supporting the incorporation of Nikiski will be re-introduced at Tuesday, September 19, Borough Assembly meeting at 6pm at Homer City Hall. According to the resolution introduced by the Borough Assembly; “the people have expressed a desire to ensure the continued viability of Nikiski as a residential, commercial, and recreational area offering citizens a quality lifestyle.” The petition to incorporate Nikiski was submitted to the Local Boundary Commission who released its preliminary report on the proposed incorporation of Nikiski, with a negative view of the petition which stated “it seeks more than it proposes to offer.”last_img read more

The use a golden eagle for a mascot, sort of like the Akron Zips who have a kangaroo for a moscot. I guess both schools feel like they need an animal for a moscot for some reason. I’d prefer something simpler logo, just a K and a lightning bolt, not an eagle head pooping out lightning. 1 10,452 posts Posted October 16, 2006 OleSmokey 0 Page 1 of 2   Link to post Members 0 Members Members Share this post Link to post 2,517 0 Link to post TBGKon Posted October 16, 2006 805 805 Posted October 16, 2006 Members Location:Boston, MA Posted October 16, 2006 Sign in to follow this   There are unis much worse than the ones posted here… Share this post TBGKon Share this post 23 33,394 posts 0 All Activity Members 0 1,182 Page 1 of 2   Link to post Favourite Logos:Philadelphia EaglesSeattle MarinersCubs “Cuba” scriptFremantle Dockers 0 Share this post Location:Hartland, WI 419 0 Share on other sites Go To Topic Listing 450 2 Share this post I like Ferry Corsten and using 3DS Max Share this post 13,
 0 iowahoo 13,833 BostonBlazer TFoA 0 8 posts I like Kent State’s unis. The whole Alumni and working with football have nothing to do with it. Toledo has a solid look IMO that actually is more inspired by their mascot. He’s looked like that for a while so it is kinda funny they added the shoulder stripes that match up so closely. Members Correct. Up until 2000 it was a total chargers rip off, just with KENT under the bolt on the helmet. For the mid 2000’s it was pretty much the same except with the current logo on the helmet, plus blue on blue and white on white on the road, except for a gold (actually dark yellow) and gold combo for the 2004 Akron game, and the occasional gold with blue pants combo for the rest of 2004 and 2005 seasons. I like that they have gold pants for their home unis, I did like the blue on blue combo, but they’re the Golden Flashes, not the Blue Flashes. Fans and teammates love him and he’s considered the club’s best signing in a while.Smalling wasn’t convinced of a long stay in Rome when he arrived, according to the Italian newspaper. His idea was rather to relaunch his career and then see where that took him, but since then he’s ‘fallen in love’ with the area and how he’s treated at Roma.So much so that he’s ‘convinced’ to stay where he is, and the defender’s desire will be ‘fundamental in negotiations’ with Manchester United for a permanent deal.Living on the outskirts of Rome, Smalling and his family have settled very well, he’s said to be a regular at vegan restaurants in the city and his favourite dish is ‘vegan carbonara’.Talks are continuing with the Premier League club to reach a price which is acceptable to all involved.
