first_imgBrowns quarterback Baker Mayfield is getting a lot of love on the national stage now that the season is over, and Sunday he was a part of a skit on Fox Sports’ NFL Pregame with one of the Manning’s – that being somewhat forgotten brother Cooper Manning. Cooper is the oldest of the Manning brothers (taking a backseat to both Peyton and Eli), and does a great job with a ‘show’ calling the ‘Manning Hour’ on Fox’s pregame. Before the NFC Title game, Manning chatted with Mayfield, and it was a pretty funny skit as the two did a little ‘cooking’ in a makeshift kitchen. It’s very much worth the time to watch, with the funniest line being Baker throwing a little shade at former coach Hue Jackson (trust me you’ll catch it).Enjoy! “Yeah, anything is better than Hue… I mean you.” ?It’s the season finale of the #ManningHour featuring Baking with @bakermayfield! pic.twitter.com/GX0NXlYauN— FOX Sports: NFL (@NFLonFOX) January 20, 2019 Related TopicsBaker MayfieldBrownsCooper Manningfeatured Matt Loede has been a part of the Cleveland Sports Media for over 21 years, with experience covering Major League Baseball, National Basketball Association, the National Football League and even high school and college events. first_imgPortmore United will need to look for a replacement for Corey Burke in the January transfer window as the striker is now set for a return to Major League Soccer (MLS) in January. Burke was playing for Philadelphia Union in MLS last year when he encountered visa problems and, since May, became ineligible to play in the United States for the rest of the season. However, the striker, who has been on loan at the defending Red Stripe Premier League champions has been in good form in the second round of the season, scoring seven goals in eight matches to be the league’s top scorer on 11 goals. He told The Gleaner after netting a brace in a 3-1 win over Vere United at the Spanish Town Prison Oval on Sunday that things are in progress for his return to the Union next year.“I have been working very hard still and just waiting to hear the next move,” he said. “Everything is in progress and that is what is expected, so I might not finish the season with Portmore. But for now I am here to do my best to help Portmore to reach back on top,” he stated. The striker is also delighted to be in such rich vein of form ahead of his return to the US.“As a striker, it doesn’t matter where you are playing,” he said. “You have to score goals. That is what you get paid to do. My agent has been telling me every week that I need to continue scoring goals, so whenever I get back on the international market people will know what to expect. So, definitely, I feel good about how I have ended the year.”Burke remained under contract with the Union although his visa was not renewed. He is also still being paid by the club. He has scored 16 goals for the Union since joining from Bethlehem Steel in 2018. Portmore head coach Ricardo Gardner praises him as an invaluable asset this season.“He has been excellent for us all season,” Gardner said. “His work rate and contribution has done a lot for the team, and the goals are starting to come and that is adding to his performance. He is putting away his chances and his quality is showing now. I can depend on him every game to score one or two because he puts himself in goalscoring positions and he is finishing them.” livingston.scott@gleanerjm.comlast_img read more

first_imgThe Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers beat the Paris Junior College Dragons 10-6 Wednesday afternoon at the BPCC Baseball Field. After Paris took a 6-5 lead in the seventh, BPCC got three straight hits to begin the bottom of the seventh, including an RBI double off the bat of designated hitter Stephen Zayas, which tied the game. The Cavs took the lead on Willie Ward’s groundout, which plated Gavin Pelletier and set off a strange chain of events. When Pelletier crossed the plate with the go-ahead run some words were exchanged between he and Paris catcher Kros Bay. It appeared as though Bay may have bumped Pelletier, and the two had to be separated. Both players were immediately ejected. When BPCC coach Bobby Gilliam asked for an explanation he was tossed as well. After order was restored, Brayden Winn singled through the left side scoring Zayas to give BPCC an 8-6 lead heading into the eighth. The Cavaliers tac ked on two insurance runs in the eighth, which were needed as Paris scored once in the top of the ninth. Cavaliers righ-hander Konner McDermott was spectacular in relief of starter Aaron Thompson. McDermott, who came on in the second, scattered seven hits over six and a third innings, allowed just one run while striking out four to earn the victory. Paris pitcher Brandon Morse was tagged with the loss after he went two and third innings, allowing four hits and four earned runs. Morse had three strikeouts and didn’t allow a walk but did hit three Cavalier batters, which led to his undoing.BPCC left fielder and former Captain Shreve standout Kyle Koch went 2-3 with a double and home run. He drove in four runs to lead the Cavaliers to the Region XIV win. With BPCC trailing 1-0 after a half inning, Koch drilled the first pitch he saw from Dragons hurler Hunter Reeves into the woods beyond the left field fence to give the Cavaliers a 3-1 lead. He later doubled in a run in the eighth.BPCC improved to 8-18 overall and 2-7 in Region XIV play, while Paris dropped to 13-16 and 3-7. first_imgFenerbahce sporting director Emre Belozoglu has identified Nice’s central defender Malang Sarr as an option for the Turkish club next season, but Fotospor claim the player has been drawing attention from other European clubs, including Newcastle United. Fotospor say Emre has been working with agent Federico Pastorello, who had an influence on his transfer to Newcastle United back in 2005, and Malang Sarr is a player he’s currently looking at.Along with Newcastle, it’s reported Lazio and Eintracht Frankfurt are also interested in signing the 21 year old, who has been impressing for Nice.Given Fenerbahce’s financial situation, it’s unlikely that they will be able to compete with the likes of Newcastle and Lazio, however Emre is hoping they can still lure him to Istanbul by offering a lucrative contract.According to Fotospor, Emre will work closely with Pastorello, and the club’s president Ali Koc has also been informed about his pursuit of Sarr. The 21 year old played 20 games for Nice this season before Ligue 1 came to a premature halt. His contract with the club will expire at the end of June.by Taboolaby TaboolaSponsored LinksSponsored LinksPromoted LinksPromoted LinksTrending TodayForge of Empires – Free Online GameIf You Like to Play, this Game is a Must-HaveForge of Empires – Free Online GameUndo聽多多 Hearmore.asia1969年前出生的香港居民現可免費試戴頂尖的歐洲助聽器聽多多 Hearmore.asiaUndoHero WarsGetting this Treasure is impossible! first_imgMarvel Studios(LOS ANGELES) — Add Kurt Russell to the list of Guardians of the Galaxy series stars to express support for writer-director James Gunn.  As previously reported, Gunn was fired from a third film in the series after offensive tweets of his were unearthed.“It’s sad,” Russell told Variety over the weekend. “But it’s a part of our fabric now, and I get it.”Russell added, “But I do think we’re getting a little too sensitive on maybe some of the wrong people.”The actor played a living planet named Ego — the father of Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord — in GOTG2.  Speaking about Gunn, he told Variety, “You have to realize that when you are in that world as a comedian, a writer, whatever, you’re always stretching the boundaries and trying to find something…which [led] him to something that the world loves, which is Guardians of the Galaxy. He has a wonderful heart and a wonderful mind. I hope he is forgiven.”Since Gunn was terminated last month, the movie’s entire cast posted a social media message signed in solidarity, imploring Disney to hire him back.On Sunday, Dave Bautista, who plays Drax, vented on Twitter that “GOTG w/o James Gunn isn’t GOTG.” The wrestler-turned-actor also said he’d only participate in Vol. 3 because he was contractually obligated to do so.Copyright © 2018, ABC Radio. first_imgPSC Golf from the Tropical Golf GroupTuesday, July 5, Khao Kheow – StablefordThis is the first course on our schedule every month when we sit down to decide where we are to go.  The recent water shortages on the courses have not been too bad here and as we drove up to the clubhouse all looked green and ready to go.  The only drawback was that there seemed to be a bit of mist around and as one wag put it, we were more likely to have a fog delay than a rain delay.(From left) Tom Herrington, Jun and Mick Coghlan. The course was quite empty and so we were able to get away on time.  KhaoKheow is always a tough challenge no matter how good the day is, come out with a good score here and you know you have had a top round. The course was in good condition with grass on the fairways and greens that ran quick and true, although maybe not up to their normal speed.  The biggest problem on the day was the humidity, all the players suffered and the last few holes saw many players losing points.  In fact we had some scores on the day that were well below even what we usually see here. Soon finished it was into the shower, up the stairs to the restaurant for a bite to eat and a drink, then back to Pattaya.Bob Britton (centre) with Tom Herrington (right) and one of BJ Lodge’s finest.Early back to town it was soon into the results.  The winner was Bob Britton with 35 points on count back over Tom Herrington in second.  We then had a count back on 33 points that saw Dick Warberg in third, Mashi Kaneta in fourth and Derek Brook fifth.Near Pins: Mashi Kaneta, Tom Herrington, Paul SharplesFriday, July 8, Silky Oak – StablefordOn Friday the Tropical Golfers decided to treat themselves to a visit to Silky Oak.  We play this course just a few times per year and it’s always a special day.  It’s slow season and there is also a lot of local travel going on, but still, 15 golfers made their way to BJ’s Lodge for food and cups of ambition.  The later than usual tee time allowed for refills for those who wanted, and then the cars were loaded and off we went.Silky Oak is an interesting layout that is designed to mess with your mind.  There are several water carries off the tee, and even though the carries are not nearly as long as they look and easily cleared by even short hitters, it still makes for some knee knocking.  If one concentrates on the positives they will find the wide fairways inviting.  Speaking of fairways, the condition of them this day was very good to excellent.  Sadly the greens were another matter, being both recently sanded and quite bumpy at times – Green rating, fair.Silky Oak off the white tees is a course where good scores are common, and this day proved that – and how.  You needed to be well above handicap to get mentioned.Even with a healthy dose of high scores, one stood one stood head, shoulders, and a par 5 above the rest.  Tom Herrington (course H/cap 18) awoke from a golf slumber and turned in a numbing 44 stableford points!  When asked to comment about his amazing round Tom replied “A group of butterflies is officially called a kaleidoscope”.  We wonder about Tom sometimes.Next up was Mick Coghlan (H/cap 21) who carded a usually winning 40 points.  Well done!  Mashi Kaneta (16) had 39 points, and Dick Warberg a proud 38 points.  It was quite the show of golf this day.  Congrats to all!Near Pins: George King, Tom Herrington, Dick Warberg, Aidan Murray, Peter Hynard.last_img read more
